Before Signing Up

Here are some things to consider prior to submitting an application to become a mentor.

• All mentors are required to complete background checks. The cost of background checks is $8 in South Carolina and $50 in Texas.
• All mentors must make a commitment of at least 6 months of mentoring, though 1 year commitments are preferred. 
• Mentors must complete 3 hours of training, half of which is online, and half of which is in person. Failure to complete training, or pass performance tests will prevent mentors from being matched.
• All mentors will be supervised on site by the AMPED team.
